Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Search terms entered into a sponsored search tool go directly to the outside company that operates it. That provider processes the query under its own policy. Grant County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends an email, the message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain necessary business records. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server and analytics logs may collect technical information when a page loads:
- the device's internet protocol address
- browser type and version
- device type and operating system
- pages viewed and time spent on them
- the referring website, when available
- the date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services may be used to measure traffic, understand page use, and improve performance. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected data may be used for the following operating purposes:
- delivering pages and maintaining site availability
- routing a sponsored query to the chosen outside provider
- measuring which resources visitors use
- diagnosing errors, abuse, and security events
- displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Grant County Court Docket does not maintain, sell, or compile a database of Grant County case files or personal court-record information. It publishes general directions to Indiana MyCase, the Grant County Clerk of Courts, trial courts, and city courts. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on content pages. Their privacy notices, retention periods, pricing, and sharing rules apply to data entered into those tools. Review the provider's terms before submitting a query because Grant County Court Docket does not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Indiana courts, the Grant County Clerk, municipal courts, legal resources, and commercial search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Advertising providers may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- a search partner that processes a query
- analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- advertising networks that deliver ads
- service providers needed to host or secure the site
- government authorities when valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under the site's control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so an absolute promise against unauthorized access or loss is not made.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. Information identified as belonging to a minor may be removed when the operator becomes aware of it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Indiana and federal consumer-protection and privacy law may provide rights based on the visitor's location and the type of data involved. The Indiana Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code section 5-14-3, governs requests to public agencies and does not turn this private site into a public-record custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- ask what personal information the site holds
- request correction of inaccurate personal data
- request deletion where retention is not required
- object to or opt out of certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes available on this page with a new effective date.
