Grant County Court Docket Searches
Start a Grant County court docket search at Indiana MyCase. This is the state's main public index. It covers Grant's Odyssey courts. Anyone can pull a case summary there, along with any documents the system makes available. No ordinary login is needed. Remember what it is not, though. MyCase is not the official record. For a certified copy, a current balance, or a paper that never made it online, the Grant County Clerk of Courts still has the last word.
Pick your search field with care. An exact case, citation, or cross-reference number works best. If you only have a name, search by party, business, or attorney instead. Grant County courts come through one selection. But Grant/Gas City City Court and Grant/Marion City Court each need their own pick. Advanced filters narrow things by case category, open or closed status, and file-date range. Go too broad and you can hit the 1,000-result ceiling. Hammer away with repeated attempts and a captcha may appear.
- Choose Case, Name, or Attorney in MyCase.
- Enter one identifier or the required name fields.
- Select Grant County, Gas City, or Marion as the docket requires.
- Narrow by Criminal & Citation, Civil, Family, or Probate.
- Match the court code, type, filed date, status, and caption.
- Open the case summary and read CCS entries in date order.
- Ask the custodian for missing or certified material.
Online search is not the only door. The clerk counter still answers questions in person. The courts take direct calls, and the city offices help with their own matters. Confirmed mail or email procedures work too, which matters when the database comes up short. The county offers no general online copy-request form and promises no set response time.
Grant MyCase Search Fields
Which MyCase field you use depends on what you already know. Indiana case numbers go in fine without hyphens or leading zeroes. A trailing wildcard only works as a starts-with tool. So it cannot open a name or hide inside one. Keep "sounds like" separate. That control should never ride along with a wildcard. MyCase also digs through case-number history, and an old transfer may mean the current number differs from what you expected.
| Known detail | MyCase field | Grant County docket tip |
|---|---|---|
| Uniform number | Case Number | Look for 27C01, 27D01 through 27D03, 27H01, or 27H02. |
| Traffic ticket | Citation Number | Enter the exact citation before assuming a case-number form. |
| Older agency ID | Cross Reference | Exact text is generally needed. |
| Person | Last plus another name or date field | Add court, category, and date limits. |
| Business | Business Name | Use the business route, not person fields. |
| Attorney | Name or bar number | Use the bar number when known. |
The Grant County links page connects readers with official search and court-rule resources.

The county link hub helps you tell an official state search route from a third-party index. Whatever you find, let the court that holds the record confirm the final version.
Court Dockets: What They Show
MyCase labels its public result a case summary. The running history behind it is the Chronological Case Summary, or CCS. A Grant County court docket can carry a lot: the court, the case number, filing date, case type, public caption, party roles, status, events, judge, hearing details, disposition, financial notice, and titles of available documents. One field alone rarely tells the whole story.
| Case number | Combines county and court, filing period, case type, and sequence. |
|---|---|
| Caption and roles | Names the public case style and procedural roles when accessible. |
| CCS entries | List dated filings, settings, motions, orders, and other public events. |
| Hearing setting | May show date, time, location, judge, and setting label. |
| Status or disposition | Reports a system state or outcome entry, not the full order. |
| Document link | Offers remote access when authorized; a missing link may require the clerk. |
Labels can mislead. A closed tag is not the judgment, and a reset is not a dismissal. A role label proves nothing about the outcome either. Read the events in order. When exact terms matter, get the filed order itself.
Why Grant Dockets Start With 27
Every Grant County case number opens with 27, thanks to Indiana's uniform numbering rule. The letter and digits after the code name the court. 27C01 belongs to Circuit Court. Meanwhile, 27D01, 27D02, and 27D03 mark Superior Courts 1 through 3. Gas City's court is 27H01, and Marion's is 27H02. Old Odyssey records may still show 27E01. That code belongs to a court that no longer exists.
- CCS
- The Chronological Case Summary, which is the dated event history.
- Setting
- A scheduled hearing, conference, review, trial, or similar court event.
- Continuance or reset
- A move to a new setting, not a decision on the case.
- Disposition
- The recorded manner of resolution; the order supplies the complete terms.
- Case type
- A procedural code such as F6, CM, SC, EV, PL, or DC.
That court prefix often beats a broad subject description as a clue. It points straight to the office that can confirm a date or hand over a missing document.
Grant County Courts and Their Dockets
Grant County sits in Indiana Judicial District 14. The county trial system runs Circuit Court plus Superior Courts 1, 2, and 3, all housed at the Marion courthouse. Gas City and Marion each keep a separate city court. Assignment rules spread civil, criminal, juvenile, probate, protection-order, and specialty matters across those benches. No prefix on your case? Search every relevant Grant selection.
| Court | Docket covers | Where to search |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit, 27C01 | Mental health, waivers, Drug and Veterans courts, grand jury, shared civil and felony matters | MyCase, Clerk, direct court |
| Superior 1, 27D01 | Tax sale, estates, guardianship, Reentry, shared civil and felony matters | MyCase, Clerk, court line |
| Superior 2, 27D02 | Protection orders, adoption, IV-D, juvenile, shared matters | MyCase, Clerk, court line |
| Superior 3, 27D03 | Small claims, eviction, Level 6 felony, OWI | MyCase, Clerk, court line |
| Gas City, 27H01 | Local misdemeanor, infraction, and ordinance cases | MyCase and Gas City Court |
| Marion, 27H02 | City misdemeanor, infraction, ordinance, and settings | MyCase and Marion City Court |
The Indiana Judicial Branch Grant County directory gathers MyCase, e-filing, local rules, and statistics.

The state directory shows how local custody and statewide court technology fit together. Federal cases take a different path entirely, through PACER and the Northern District of Indiana.
Marion’s Grant Docket Hub
The Grant County Courts and Clerk share one building. The address is 101 E. 4th Street, Marion, Indiana 46952. Circuit and all three Superior Courts sit there. Doors are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The building closes from noon to 1:00 p.m. Head to the first floor for the Clerk.
For courthouse location, hours, court navigation, and the calendar link, the Grant County Courts home page lays it all out on the official site.

Need a direct court number? The county home page is the place to start. Circuit answers at (765) 664-5527. Superior 1, 2, and 3 use (765) 664-9532, (765) 662-1719, and (765) 668-8123. The juvenile line is (765) 662-3626, and county traffic or small claims runs through (765) 668-7145.
Call before you travel. That advice goes double for an old case, a restricted record, a transcript, or a balance question. The courts publish no kiosk, parking rule, or appointment system.
Court Dates and Settings in Grant County
Indiana Trial Court Calendars covers a much shorter window than MyCase. That window is the past seven days and the next four weeks. You can filter by county, participating court, date, case text, and name text. A result may show the time, setting type, judge, place, court phone, and a public case link. The display stops at 100 results.
Grant's list names Circuit, Superior 2, and Superior 3. Superior 1 and both city courts do not appear. That absence is not proof of no hearing. Confirm a missing setting through MyCase, the current order, the clerk, or the direct court line. Labels describe settings, not outcomes. Those include Initial Hearing, Review Hearing, Jury Trial, Final Pretrial, Small Claims Collection, and Sentencing.
Dates can shift late. A reset, continuance, or cancellation may land after an earlier notice went out. The full Grant County court schedule walks through the near-term calendar route in more detail.
Note: When the calendar, the MyCase entry, and an older paper notice disagree, the current court notice controls.
Grant’s Missing Calendar Court
MyCase coverage and calendar coverage are two different things. MyCase lists the active Grant Odyssey court identifiers. The live Trial Court Calendars, though, skip some courts. Superior 1, Gas City, and Marion were absent from the August 2026 list. So a blank calendar search can sit beside a valid case summary and a real setting. When that happens, open the CCS for the newest public setting. Then call the court tied to the prefix. D01 means Superior 1. H01 or H02 means the city office. A calendar is a date tool, not the complete Grant County court docket, and an empty result never proves a case or hearing does not exist.
Docket Access Under Indiana Law
Indiana law starts from openness. Exclusions still apply to court records. A public Grant County court docket can hold a sealed or confidential document all the same. It can also hold a protected or non-remote one. Juvenile, mental-health, adoption, protection-order, investigative, medical, treatment, and expunged material may be missing or trimmed. Rule 4 requires an indication of the exclusion without revealing the protected content itself.
Key rules:
Indiana Code § 5-14-3-3 allows inspection and copying of public agency records during regular hours, subject to exceptions.
Access Rule 4 presumes public court-record access unless Rule 5 excludes material.
Access Rule 5 identifies sealed, confidential, sensitive, and protected categories.
Access Rule 9 governs requests for access to excluded court records.
Not every gap means a seal. Courthouse access runs broader than authorized remote access in some cases. A missing image can also come from incomplete conversion, so ask before concluding that the underlying filing does not exist.
Doxpop’s Grant Docket Role
Grant's official resources link to a vendor-hosted second index, Doxpop. It is not the court. The service adds filters for party role, cross reference, case-type group, and disposition dates beyond what the state index offers. Basic open-case access is free. Advanced searches and some images or downloads can carry account charges. The vendor warns that coverage may be incomplete.

The Doxpop landing page defines the tool's role. It locates; it does not certify. Use it to pin down a court code or case number, then confirm the event through MyCase or the Grant County Clerk, since a vendor index never becomes the certified case file.
How the Clerk Keeps Docket Records
The Grant County Clerk of Courts keeps county court records. The office also holds the court seal. It is the ministerial officer. Filings, judgments, orders, court information, probate records, and related units all live in that office. MyCase supplies the public index. The Clerk supplies the official file, certification, missing public documents, and current balance information.

Search first and write down the court, number, type, date, status, event, and document title. Then ask for the precise item. That may mean the CCS or a filed paper. It could also mean the full public file, a certified instrument, or a transcript route. Call or visit when an online link is missing. Before using mail, email, or the published fax, confirm acceptance, payment, postage, delivery, and turnaround.
| Published item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Photocopy | $1.00 per page |
| Certified instrument | $1.10 per page |
No separate docket-search, e-document, mailing, transcript, or civil filing fee appears on the county fee page. Ask before ordering an unlisted service. The Clerk also warns of scam calls. The office will not call demanding payment or threatening a lien, so verify any payment request at the published number.
Grant Dockets by the Numbers
Indiana's official 2024 workbook lists six Grant Odyssey court rows. Together they recorded 14,327 new filings, 12,892 dispositions, and 23,568 pending cases at year end. Those are case counts. They are not people, hearings, documents, or crime rates. The rows blend city citation and ordinance activity with county criminal, civil, family, probate, and juvenile work.
The Indiana 2024 statistics page supplies the official workbooks.

Each number on the report page carries a year. It also carries a court identifier. That anchor matters. A Marion year-end total is therefore not a live 2026 backlog. For an interactive county view, turn to the state's Indiana trial statistics dashboard.

Use the dashboard for court-operations context only. It does not replace a case search, and it cannot support facts about a person.
When Grant Documents Are Missing
A MyCase event with no document link is common. First confirm the right Grant County court docket is open. Check the case number, city or county selection, category, status, date range, and spelling. Older or transferred records may carry a prior number. Restricted cases may hide the entire result or only part of it. The event shows; the image does not. Note the date and the document title. Ask the Clerk or the city office whether the item is public, available in person, kept on paper, or excluded. For a decree, judgment, certified instrument, or transcript, name the exact item and the certification level you need. Doxpop may locate a number, but it cannot cure a court restriction. It cannot certify a copy. Phone and counter service are the firm fallback. Confirm mail and email arrangements in advance, because the county publishes no general request form. Ask about a public terminal too.
City-by-City Court Dockets in Grant County
Grant County holds three incorporated cities and seven towns. The 2020 Census ranks Marion at 28,310 and Gas City at 6,157. Jonesboro comes in at 1,516. Marion and Gas City run separate city courts. Each has its own identifiers, counters, dates, and payment rules. Jonesboro is different. No separate city-court entry appears for it in the official directory or the Odyssey list. A Jonesboro lookup therefore follows the court named on the citation. It can also follow the county Clerk's routing.
Marion Court Records
Population 28,310 · City Court uses 27H02 and is separate from the county Clerk.
Gas City Court Records
Population 6,157 · City Court uses 27H01 and publishes its own session and payment rules.
Jonesboro Court Records
Population 1,516 · No separate Jonesboro court identifier was found; use the named court.
Marion City Court answers at (765) 668-4425. Gas City Court answers at (765) 677-3081. City court cases still surface through the statewide index where public, but you must pick the right city. A Jonesboro address alone never authorizes assigning a case to Marion or Gas City.
Map and Directions to the Grant County Courthouse
